A NY state licensed massage therapist since 1998, I began my Craniosacral Therapy training in 2000 with the Upledger Institute (UI) and completed the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy training (RCST) in 2005 (Wellness Institute, Roger Gilchrist, MA, RPE, RCST). My education includes courses in Somato Emotional Release (UI), Craniosacral Therapy for Pediatrics (UI), Prenatal Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Polarity Therapy (Soma-Psyche Institute), Body-Centered Counseling (Soma-Psyche Institute), Somatic Intuition (Ron DeAngelo, PhD), CST for Babies and Small Children (Etienne Piersman), Pre and Perinatal Birth Therapy (Chantia Smith, CPM), Bach Flower Remedies (Noga Kreiman-Miller - Practitioner certification), Pregnancy Dialogues facilitator training (Raylene Phillips, MD & Henrik Norholt, PhD), and Karlton Terry Baby Therapy. Previously, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington (Seattle) with a BA in Dance (1992).
I have been working with babies and children since 2002. Many teachers, authors and practitioners in the field of Pre & Perinatal Psychology, such as Wendy Anne McCarty, PhD, RN, Thomas Verny, MD, David Chamberlain, PhD, Cherionna Menzam-Sills, Ray Castellino RPP, RPE, RCST, William Emerson, PhD, Bruce Lipton, PhD, Karlton Terry, and Kathryn Terry, have had a profound impact on my understanding of babies consciousness, awareness and journey into being. As a mother of 2, my experiences with my own children also deeply inform my pediatric practice and ground my work with expectant and post-natal mothers.
Formerly a professional modern dancer, I enjoy movement for the body in a myriad of forms. I love to run, snowboard, cycle, swim, practice yoga and dance. I have taught anatomy and am experienced in strength training, stretching and conditioning. These experiences allow me to bring an intimate knowledge of the demands of the active body to my work.
I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America (BCTA/NA) and the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH).
