essential oils
What are essential oils?
Essential oils are the oils obtained from a plant by steam or water distillation, by expressing, or by maceration / distillation. They can be extracted from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds.
When essential oils are within the plant, they are constantly changing their chemical composition, helping the plant adapt to the ever-changing internal and external environment. Their therapeutic properties, besides having a rich history in folk medicine, have been long studied and have quantifiable benefits for our health and well being.
I use them in my practice to help with physical symptoms such as inflammation, spasm, and muscle pain. As well as to support immune health and to encourage positive emotional states.
I use only pure, unadulterated essential oils from Young Living.
